Sagrantino di Montefalco DOCG, Roccafiore

Sagrantino di Montefalco is Umbria’s flagship wine and this is a fantastic example, a faithfull expression of the Montefalco area, a great, unknown Italian red wine.

This Sagrantino di Montefalco has a very complex nose with plenty of black fruit and spices due to the wood ageing. In the mouth is full, powerful and elegant at the same time, tannins and a long finish.

Sagrantino di Montefalco is an importat wine and as such, it needs to be oxygenated before being drunk. The 2015 was a good vintage for the area and this wine can be drunk now or kept in the cellar for a few years.

Sagrantino di Montefalco pairs perfectly important dishes, from stew to game, aged cheeses or can be sipped as a meditation wine.
