Favorita, Collina San Ponzio

The Favorita is a very little know wine with a relatively low production in the whole region. Only in recent years wine makers in the area have started to replant the grape and produce Favorita wines, before it was used in blends. Collina San Ponzio has a small vineyard where they grow Favorita and only with Federico taking over the wine maker role, the family has decided to bottle the grape.

The favorita grape, also known as Vermentino in Sardinia and Tuscany or Pigato in Liguria, has a delicate, fruity nose with blossom hint. In the palate is dry and refreshing, with a slightly bitter aftertaste. It is an excellent aperitif and goes very well with fish and white meat.
