WINE REGION
Surrey
Country United Kingdom

Surrey is a small wine region located 30 km south from London in England and it is home to some of the best English white, rosé and sparkling wines. The climate is becoming increasingly warmer during the past decade and together with the chalky limestone hills with the same geology as that of the Champagne region are offering very favourable conditions for quality wine-growing and making. The wine history of Surrey is not long but is growing very fast and has pulled some serious attention from a major Champagne house from France which have invested in the region. The main grapes which are part of the region are Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier the hybrid Seyval Blanc. The region is home to the biggest winery in the country which already competes on an international level.
