Rheingau is one of the oldest wine regions not only in Germany but in the whole world dating back to the 13th Century. Rheingau is located alongside Rhine River between Wiesbaden and Rudesheim in the central-western part of the country near Frankfurt. It is famous for its botrytized Rieslings and the Spätburgunder (Pinot Noir) is known for dry and sweet style especially from Assmannshausen.
