Pfalz is a big and very important wine region for the production of both quality and quantity wines in Germany. The region lies between the Rhein River and the Haardt mountain range, south from Frankfurt. The region is famous for its full-bodied Riesling and red wines from Pinot Noir (Spätburgunder) and Dornfelder.
