Kamptal is a small upcoming high-quality white wine region in Austria located alongside the Kamp River 55km northwest from Vienna. The region boasts one of the finest Grüner Veltliner and Riesling wines not only in the country but in the whole world. In the Kamptal region, there are finds of various rock formations, ranging from loess and gravel to striking crystal intrusions to red sandstones and conglomerates on the famous Heiligenstein vineyard, which is as well very steep.
