WINE REGION
Istria
Country Croatia

Croatian Istria wine region is the biggest peninsula in the country and one of the key regions there famous with its white wines gaining popularity all over the world. The white wine star is the Istrian Malvasia grape variety which boasts some of the country's best wines, being crisp, refreshing, fruit-forward and aromatic. There are international varietals which thrive here as well, like the Pinot Gris, Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling and Chardonnay. Although, a white wine region there is one grape that shines for the reds and that is the Italian Refosco which is known here as Teran producing outstanding wines with great ageing potential. The climate here is Mediterranean with special soil type rich in iron called terra rossa.
