Dobrogea is one of the best wine regions in Romania located in the south-east part of the country being surrounded mainly by water in the face of the Danube river in the west and north and its Danube Delta, and the Black Sea in the east. Dobrogea has the sunniest climate with low rainfall, and gentle red and lush white wines grow here. The most commonly planted native grapes are Fetească Neagră, Fetească Albă, Fetească Regală and the international Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Sauvignon Blanc and Muscat. The region has three DOC classification areas including Babadag, Sarica Niculiţel and Murfatlar.
