WINE REGION
Dalmatia
Country Croatia

The Dalmatian wine region is one of Croatia most exciting and fastest-growing region famous with its boutique wineries, indigenous grape varieties, the beautiful vineyard on scenery and of course with its islands situated on the Adriatic Sea. Dalmatia is well recognized for their expressive reds and regional whites, especially with the red Dingac wine which is made from the Plavac Mali grape variety, which is like a benchmark of the region. As well as the wines from the Pošip Bijeli grape which are the local speciality and starting to gain international attention. Dalmatia has Mediterranean climate given its proximity to the Adriatic Sea, but on the eastern side, the landscape changes completely within 30 km inside the land with Alpine peaks which makes the wine style very diverse according to where they are, on the island and closer to the coast or in the foothills of the mountain.
