The Famoso grape was rediscovered in Romagna after years of neglect thanks to some producers who believed in it and it is now returning to make a full part in the wine offer of this region. In the past, for the scents and aromas that characterize it, as well as for the vinification, it was also used for the production of table grapes, sold fresh mostly in regional markets. Precisely because of its aroma Famoso was almost abandoned, not adapting to a market that required a more “anonymous product.” Today, on the contrary, the scent and aroma of Famoso are its strong sides and the wine produced from this grape is becoming more and more popular. The Famous white grape gives a pale straw yellow wine, which can take green reflections, while under the olfactory profile it is very intense, with characteristic hints that refer to moscato.
