GRAPE
Arinto
COLOR

Arinto is light-skinned white wine grape variety indigenous to Portugal and vastly planted in Vihno Verde region in the northern part of the country known under the name Pedernã. It is very versatile grape variety which produces wines with characteristics of lively, refreshing acidity, often with a mineral quality, along with gentle flavours reminiscent of apple, lime and lemon. Most of the white wine blends in the country include Arinto alongside the Fernão Pires and Alvarinho. The wines made predominantly from Arinto are good to keep, but are also delicious young and the finest examples shine with its freshness and complexity. It is as well the base grape for sparkling wines due to its high acidity content. Outside the country there are no plantings. Arinto is one of Portugal's most interesting grapes which provides great results and it is appreciated much from wine professionals all over the world.
