Alvarinho is a light green-skinned grape variety indigenous to Galicia on the Atlantic coast of Spain, where it is called as Albariño, widely planted in Portugal's Vinho Verde regions Monção and Melgaço under the name Alvarinho and Cainho Branco. The wines produced are very dry and aromatic, with flavours of white peach, apricot, melon, pineapple, mango and honey, keeping good natural acidity and minerality.
