Vaccarèse, Brun Argenté or Camarèse is a dark-skinned rare grape variety originally found in the southern part of the Rhône region. The grape has muddled brown skin colouring and silvery tinted leaves. Vaccarèse has large clusters composed of similarly large berries, cylindrical in shape and it can be prone to botrytis. It is a minor varietal found primarily in the Châteauneuf-du-Pape blend, where it is considered to be relative of Cinsault. The wine produced from Vaccarèse is a light-bodied red with aromatic properties. Vaccarèse will reveal flavours of red berry, pepper, spice, and floral notes. When blended with Grenache, can create an elegant, fresh and juicy wine.
