Poulsard or Ploussard is a pale-skinned red wine grape variety indigenous to eastern France in the Jura wine region. The wines produced from the grape, are very pale, low in tannin and are usually blended with Pinot Noir to enhance the colour, they are easily mistaken for rosé. The most excellent examples can be very fragrant, gentle and a bit spicy. It is used also to make light white, rosé and sparkling wines. There are no plantings outside France.
