The Pecorino grape is a native white grape of Marche and very little is known of its origins. It is widely cultivated in the Marche and Abruzzo and its particular name comes from the fact that the land, Abruzzo and Marche, were regions devoted to sheep farming. The Pecorino grape was recently rediscovered and replanted, having in the past been forgotten due to reduced productivity and thanks to the commitment of some forward-thinking wine maker, the grape, vinified on its own, has produced some outstanding results with wines of great structure.
