The Orvieto is a wine produced in an area crossing Latium and Umbria regions and its name comes from an Umbrian town called Orvieto. This area is known primarily for its white wines which are largely made from Grechetto and Trebbiano however, these are not always the grapes used, different varieties can also be used. The Orvieto can be classed into different wines , there is the Classico, which is produced from grapes cultivated in the historical part of the area and there are the Abboccato or Amabile, dependent upon the quantities of residual sugar in the wine which is created by ending the fermentation process before it reaches completion.
