Obaideh or Obeïdi is a rare light-skinned white wine grape variety native to Lebanon, and it is used for the production blended and varietal, but it is most famous for the aniseed liqueur called Arak. The grape has low acidity and high sugar content and makes wines with creamy texture and flavours of honey and lemons. It is traditionally blended with the indigenous Merwah grape and both expressing Lebanese Terroir in full potential.
